Blue Wave has the following on-going R&D projects and commercialization efforts under small business innovation research awards:

    - Band gap engineered and tailored dielectric passivation coating materials
    - Processing techniques for commercialization of power electronic components
    - High quality polycrystalline (MCD, NCD) diamond film synthesis

We have developed new and robust dielectric materials for high temperature (>300C), high voltage (>2KV) applications. At the commercial level, this technology will allow for the use of power semiconductor components in automobile, industrial electronics, aerospace, space electronics, traction motor and home applications. Power electronic components will switch at faster speeds than comparable silicon-based power devices at similar breakdown voltages resulting in a lower switching loss, power savings, and smaller, more efficient electronic systems needed for the 21st century.
